What isn't covered?

Unfortunately, we can't cover everything, including loss or damage caused by:

deterioration, wear and tear, corrosion and rot
chewing, scratching, tearing or fouling by pets
storm or flood damage to gates, hedges and fences

Buildings Accidental Damage

Protect yourself against accidental damage to your property, permanent fixtures and fittings. For example, you'll be covered for damaging a built-in appliance, breaking a window, or putting your foot through a ceiling.

Buildings Accidental Damage is included as standard with AA Platinum home insurance and AA Platinum buildings insurance.

Home Emergency including boiler breakdown

Home Emergency Cover gives you up to £500 for each claim, including parts and labour. Following an insured event, just call our 24-hour helpline to arrange urgent repairs to make your home safe and secure.

You'll get assistance with household emergencies such as:

Emergency roof repairs for damage caused by a storm or bad weather

Internal water pipe leaks and blocked drains

¹ Cover only applies to the property named on the policy. Cover excludes incidents resulting from the policyholder's employment or the employment of others by the policyholder.

² We'll pay the costs we've agreed in advance for alternative accommodation if your home can't be lived in due to an insured event. The accommodation will be of a similar size and standard to your home. For any one claim, you're covered for up to £75,000 with Platinum buildings insurance, or up to £25,000 with Platinum contents insurance. The Silver and Gold levels provide lower amounts for accommodation.
